Iâm so glad to be half-way through the week and to leave behind the dreary, rainy, foggy weather of the last few days. It hasnât been especially cold, but with the monochromatic grayness, it sure has looked like winter. Last week the high temperature was around 76°, yet tomorrow, thereâs a possibility of morning snow showers (which will melt before hitting the ground). Thankfully, the weekend is looking bright and sunny.
Last week I read a couple of reviews of the new and improved Old Navy Active workout clothing line. Chelsey and Julie had me so convinced that I decided to buy some for myself while the 40% discount applied. As someone who struggles with commitment to exercise, I refuse to fork over the money for expensive athletic gear.
Tonight at gymnastics, I wore the Compression Capris in heathered gray and the Seamless V-Neck Tank in my “signature” blue. Unlike some workout clothing, I found the style and fit to be quite flattering. The pants are fairly true to size, comfortable, and slimming, and they stayed in place well during class. Maybe Iâm just not comfortable with extremely tight-fitting tops, but I went up a size on the tank. The shirt rode up a bit during the workout, but I didn’t have any major issues with it.
I purchased the black Compression Leggings as well. These fit slightly less snug than the Capris, which, sadly, is no surprise to me. Iâve owned two different sizes of the same style of Old Navy shortsâand I no longer buy their khakis for their sizing inconsistency.
Iâm in love with the purple Compression Jacket, although I ended up buying a smaller size than I usually do. I still need to return a sports bra that, unsurprisingly in my ânormalâ size, was far too snug. While I love the clothes so far, I do not recommend ordering online without visiting a store fitting room first!
Disclaimer: This post is not sponsored by Old Navy; I did not receive any compensation or gift cards for my purchases or review. I suppose you could say that Iâm just a marketing success story. đ
I hope to wear my new workout clothes frequently in the future, especially since Iâm contemplating signing up for the Color Me Rad 5K in April. Letâs just say Iâll have quite a bit of training to do.
Since food excites me much more than exercising, letâs move on to some of What I Ate Wednesday Tuesday.
Breakfast: overnight oats in a jarâthis time with Chobani raspberry yogurt. While I loved OIAJ before, adding Greek yogurt takes them to another level.
Morning snack: a few roasted cashews (not pictured)
Lunch: leftover naan bread pizza (with spinach, goat cheese, and prosciutto) and an apple
Afternoon snack: a cup of Earl Grey and a mini chocolate moon pie (itâs Carnival season, shut up!)
Dinner: delicious farro with leeks and balsamic roasted Brussels sprouts (courtesy of Genaâs Food52 column)
Post-dinner snack: king cake (from Panera Breadânot pictured)
