Happy Monday!
This weekend was full of relaxation and good food—but like most weekends, it went by much too quickly!
My Saturday began bright and early with an 8:00 Bikram yoga session. I think it’s safe to say that I’m obsessed at this point, but having spent 90 minutes balancing and centering myself all before my usual wakeup time, I don’t want to start my weekends any other way!
After I showered and Mark woke up, we drove onto the Eastern Shore and grabbed some lunch at Panini Pete’s in Fairhope. It was sunny and breezy, so we ate outside.
I had the tomato & mozzarella panini with the chef’s special side (a Caribbean-flavored wild rice salad) while Mark had roasted turkey panini with fries.
The house-made mozzarella is to die for, and the tomatoes were perfectly ripe!
After stuffing ourselves, we walked around a bit and shopped before driving down to the pier.
I finally got to see my pelicans (they’ve been eluding me at the park by work) and photographed some lovely flowers.
Afterward we visited the antique shop in Daphne where Mark bought 4 different double-edged razors (apparently an affinity for antique shaving tools runs in the family :-)). I also bought some new yoga clothes at the mall. Yay!
Saturday evening I met my good friend Tiffany for dinner at Mikato (love their sushi!). Since she had baby Will just over a year ago, we haven’t really seen each other or hung out. It was great catching up!
Sunday I got some much-needed sleep. We slept late and had brunch at Ashland Pub. I had the frittata while Mark had the stuffed French toast (yes, those specks are Fruiti Pebbles!).
We did a little more shopping and I ended my Sunday with another yoga session. The heat was brutal (it seemed warmer than the last couple classes) but I felt great afterward!
Mark cooked some delicious steaks, mashed potatoes, and roasted Brussels sprouts before we watched Mad Men and called it a night.
My weekend was so wonderful it almost makes up for the broken air conditioner ducts at work today…almost! Luckily it just took a little ingenuity (and duct tape) for cool air to blow inside the building (as opposed to outside).
Have a marvelous week, everyone!

I wish my studio had Bikram daily — they offer it twice a week and I try my hardest to get there both times!
Sounds like you had a lovely weekend! x
