I saw this fun fitness questionnaire on Julie’s blog a few days ago, and since I haven’t been super creative in the kitchen lately, I thought I’d share my own answers. Who doesn’t love a good survey?…
1. What did you eat for breakfast?
A smoothie (peach, banana, avocado, and spinach) and 1 piece of whole wheat toast topped with Sunbutter.
2. How much water do you drink a day?
I drink around 70 to 100 ounces (on yoga days, it’s the higher end). I continuously sip a Nalgene bottle during work and generally have water with my meals.
3. What is your current favorite workout?
Bikram yoga! Would you’ve guessed anything else?
4. How many calories do you eat a day?
I have no idea, though I have contemplated counting them to ensure I’m eating enough for my level of activity.
5. What are your favorite healthy snacks?
I love eating carrots + hummus, celery + peanut butter, fresh fruit, nuts, and Greek yogurt, as I recently shared here.
6. What do you usually eat for lunch?
If I’m not finishing off leftovers from earlier in the week (soup, pasta, burgers, beans and rice, etc.), then it’s usually a large salad or a sandwich with fruit/vegetables on the side.
7. What is your favorite body part to strength train?
Legs, I suppose.
8. What is your least favorite body part to strength train?
Arms? I honestly don’t do much strength training.
9. What are your “bad” food cravings?
I’m not a big fan of labeling foods as such unless we’re talking about frankfenfoods and additives (like these). I have a hard time saying “no” to a good bowl (or waffle cone) of ice cream, and around Easter, I can’t keep my hands off Cadbury Mini Eggs (which, of course, are full of nasty food dyes).
10. Do you take vitamins or supplements?
During the work week, I usually take 1 of Alive! Women’s Multi (which is formulated to take 3 times a day). I prefer obtaining nutrients through whole foods, however, and don’t feel like I need 300-1000% of x vitamin each day (which is why I take ⅓ the dose).
11. How often do you eat out?
We usually dine out 2-3 times on the weekends; it’s one of our forms of “entertainment,” since we cook at home during the work week.
12. Do you eat fast food?
Very rarely, and it’s usually when traveling. On the rare occasion I don’t pack a lunch for work, I opt for Subway and pile on the vegetables.
13. Who is your biggest supporter?
My parents & husband.
14. Do you have a gym membership?
No (unless you count yoga). I had one for a couple years and rarely used it. Gyms and their equipment intimidate me, and I struggle with keeping an exercise routine. I’d much rather go for a scenic walk by the Bay or through my neighborhood. Nature > gym!
15. How many hours of sleep do you get a night?
7-8. I haven’t functioned well with any less since college.
16. Do you have a “cheat” day?
Plead the fifth?
I try my best to eat well and stay active every day, but there’s always room for a cupcake, extra glass of wine, or a Harry Potter marathon in the La-Z-Boy. Moderation is the name of the game, and I believe days full of salads and sweat balance days full of cookies and couches.
17. Do you drink alcohol?
Yes. I almost exclusively drink water during the day (apart from my single mug of coffee and the occasional tea), so I do enjoy a beer or glass of wine with dinner some (not all) evenings.
18. Do you have a workout buddy?
No, but I wish I did, as it would hold me much more accountable!
19. What is the best thing that has changed about your life since committing to a healthy lifestyle?
I feel better physically and mentally, plus it’s as if I’m living for something bigger than myself. If I eat well and stay active, I can influence others to do the same. Our health truly is a gift and something I don’t want to take for granted while I’m young (or old).
20. What was the last healthy thing you did?
Went for a walk during lunch.
