Lately I’ve become addicted to all things coconut. You might even say I’ve gone coco loco!
I love putting unsweetened coconut flakes in my yogurt bowls and snack bites, and melted coconut butter on top of a sweet potato becomes the most decadent side dish.
Ever since reading about how a flame retardant—brominated vegetable oil—is used as an emulsifier in energy drinks and sodas (though it’s banned as a food product in Europe and Japan), I’ve been drinking coconut water to refuel after Bikram yoga.
I normally buy Zico or Vita Coco, but recently, the fine folks at Epicurex LLC contacted me about sampling and reviewing a new product they’ve begun distributing: COCOZIA®.
Cocozia is all-natural, consisting solely of 100% coconut water; furthermore, it’s USDA organic, non-GMO verified, and kosher.
Oh, and it’s also delicious. Sometimes coconut water tastes sour to me, but Cocozia has an extremely smooth consistency and natural sweetness to it.
I’ve enjoyed the refreshing flavor so much that I drank some with breakfast this past weekend; I anticipate it will be delicious in a tropical-flavored smoothie, too.
Cocozia is packaged in adorable 11.1 ounce tetrapaks, complete with a plastic straw. It reminds me of a healthier version of one of my childhood favorites: the juice box.
Since coconut water is known for having naturally occurring electrolytes, such as potassium and magnesium, it’s perfect to drink after my 90-minute sweat sessions!
Though not yet available in any stores near me, a 12-pack of Cocozia is available for purchase on Amazon for $25.00, which is comparable to other coconut water on the market.
I highly recommend you give Cocozia—and natural hydration—a try!
