1. You know you’re a grammar nerd when this Buzzfeed article makes your day. I especially love the “Comma Sutra.”
2. Those pesky love bugs have shown up in Alabama. Despite the fact that the front of my car will be covered in the less fortunate bugs, it’s good news—because AUTUMN is approaching!!
3. Speaking of autumn, I love this, especially #9.
4. Mark’s and my 8 year “date-a-versary” is tomorrow! Some days it baffles me that we’ve been together that long; others, it seems like we’ve been a couple forever. Boxed wine will always be near and dear to my heart. Ok, that’s a lie.
5. I’m super-excited for the finale of So You Think You Can Dance tonight! My parents always claim they tried to get me involved in dance, but I think they’re lying. Much like they continue to lie about having tried to put me in piano lessons. They say I was too stubborn. Me, stubborn? That’s laughable. 😉
6. This month and the next are all about “getting our culture on.” This past weekend we enjoyed First Friday Artwalk, this weekend is Les Miserables at the CCT, next week is God of Carnage at MTG, and next month is BOOK OF MORMON (+ Saints vs. Bills) in New Orleans!!!! Seriously. Can’t. Wait.
7. After reading this blog post last week, I’m trying to practice gratitude. Even on days where I struggle, I have so much to be grateful for. My health. My job. My family. Gorgeous weather. The list is infinite…
8. In other news, I think my dog, Iggy, could use some help in the happiness/gratitude arena. Last week, Mark found our poor, sweet doggie with his head stuck in a hole that he’d chewed through his blanket, incapable of finding his way out. I just don’t know how to deal with a suicidal dog!
9. Sometimes simple is more, like with these delicious kale + white cheddar quesadillas we had for dinner last night.
10. I’m so proud of myself. While grocery shopping Saturday, I refrained from buying another jar of nut butter (although I’m mighty curious about this Coconut + Peanut spread from Earth Balance). Hooray for self control!
Happy Tuesday, friends.
