This weekend has come and gone, but it was pretty marvelous. We managed to get out and enjoy the sunny (and hot!) weather and relax for the upcoming week.
Friday night, we ventured out to try the new(ish) Lap’s on the Causeway, but with an hour and 15 minute wait, we were too hungry and had some fried shrimp po-boys at The Original Oyster House instead.
Saturday began with an 8:00 AM yoga session. As much as I enjoy starting my weekend bright and early, I’m so stiff in the mornings. I feel like I have a much better practice during the week after work.
Stiffness and all, it was a good class; it went by really quickly, which is much better than when I’m checking off each posture in my head, counting down till the last breathing exercise.
Since Iggy spends so much time in his crate while we’re at work, we took him for a walk around the beautiful Spring Hill College (our alma mater) campus and ate some lunch outside the library (this brought back memories from my senior year when Mark and I would have a quick lunch before I walked to class in new hall—which, after all these years, is still un-named & called new hall).
Iggy even got his photo taken by his namesake, St. Ignatius of Loyola. 🙂
Saturday night we went to see Les Misérables down the street (literally) at CCT. The show was awesome. With such a tiny theatre, I thought they did a fantastic job staging the performance. Several local opera performers were cast in the main roles (like Valjean and Fantine), so the singing was phenomenal (much better than Rent a few months ago). I love this show so much; it makes me want to go back to London and see it again! 🙂
Sunday I overslept, but I think my body needed it! I decided to go for an afternoon run, which was blazing hot but also relaxing. I only ran a mile total, alternating running laps with walking ones.
We did some laundry, grilled some hamburgers and hotdogs, and watched the Saints game (after the long thunderstorm delay) the rest of the afternoon.
Hope everybody has a great week!
