1. It’s October!!! The leaves are beginning to fall in our backyard (only they’re not pretty orange-hued leaves like in regions of the country where seasons actually exist), and I’m about to break out the boots regardless of it still being shorts and flip flops weather.
2. Per these 21 Signs Your Addiction to Good TV is Reaching Very Dangerous Levels, I need help—or an intervention. Especially since I’ve now begun scheduling my Bikram nights around which TV shows I’m willing to miss. Sorry, Glee, but lying in savasana is more beneficial than watching your mediocrity (well, and I’m a 29-year-old, for crying out loud).
3. Let’s talk about how excited I am that Rouse’s will be opening several locations in the Mobile area. I love this grocery store. Their deli and seafood departments are fabulous, and I have a feeling come Mardi Gras, we will buying their king cakes far too often.
4. I need some new music for my iPod. Any suggestions? I’m still addicted to Seattle’s The Head and the Heart (and can’t wait for their new album to come out Oct 15), but I need something to get me through the work day besides musicals.
5. I got a kick out of these 19 Everyday Situations That Are Impossibly Difficult for the Socially Awkward, especially #3, #4, #6 (just say “hi” and leave it that!), and #11 (for the love of God, can we all just agree to treat walking like driving and keep to the right?).
6. My dog is cuter than your dog. Especially when he’s wearing his Drew Brees jersey.
7. Although I’m glad it’s fall, I’m not excited about the shorter days. I’ve already noticed how it’s getting darker earlier. Sure, it means I’ll get to see some pretty sunsets on the drive home from work, I but it also means I won’t leave my house after 6 PM until March. Ok, I’m kidding on that one.
8. Saturday on the way to NOLA, I had my first pumpkin spice latté of the season. I’m not much of a sweet coffee drinker to begin with, but I was kind of disappointed. I think I’m going to try this recipe and make my own.
9. I’ve yet to cook with butternut squash this season, but Gina’s Butternut Squash and Spinach Lasagna Rolls are calling out my name. They look incredible.
10. I actually have a recipe for you guys either Wednesday or Thursday. Yes, it’s fall-flavored, and yes, it’s delicious!
Have a great day, blog world!
