1. You’ll have to excuse me for the lack of blog posts this week. On Sunday, our MacBook decided to quit working, so I’ve ultimately been computer-less these last few days.
2…which also means that I have another photo-less post for you. It’s easy to publish text from my phone’s WordPress app, but I can’t figure out the photo thing. I did use a little ingenuity (or plain old common sense) and copy and paste the code for the link-up image, though.
3. As if having a skittish computer isn’t stressful enough, my husband’s car decided to stop running on Sunday, too. Since he has to leave the office and visit the jail during the day, he’s been driving my car most of the week. I fully admit to throwing a minor hissy fit Sunday afternoon since I knew I’d be trapped at work this week.
4. But there’s good news! Shortly after I decided to take an invigorating walk from my office to the park and back yesterday (it’s much longer than it looks!), I received a text message from Mark saying his car was fixed and we could pick it up after work. Not the best news for the wallet, but this girl is really happy to have Ella (yes, my car has a name) back! 🙂
5. Now if only Mark would start feeling better (he actually stayed home from work Tuesday) and my cough would go away (Bikram Tuesday night seemed to help, but last night I couldn’t stop coughing!), we can focus 100% on Christmas (which is officially less than a week away)!
6. Since I haven’t been able to blog all week, I never got to talk about the impromptu Christmas party we hosted Friday night! Mark’s boss was supposed to hold their office party at her house, but since she was sick and would have to cancel, we stepped up (Friday morning, no less) to hold it at our place. I was nervous (since I’m charmingly socially awkward and have only met a few of his coworkers), but it ended up being really fun. Plus, I can cross another item off my 30 Before 30 list.
7. I also missed talking about the holiday symphony and Pentatonix concert we went to Saturday night. It was so, so good! Pentatonix was amazing (like seriously, how do you simultaneouly beatbox and play the cello?!) and I thought it was pretty cool they kicked off their holiday tour in little ol’ Mobile, Alabama. The orchestra did a great job, too, as usual.
8. This upcoming weekend should be pretty fun, too. My mother is holding her family Christmas party Saturday night, the city’s parade is earlier that day, and I hope to finish up my Christmas shopping before Monday rolls around. I just need to get one more thing for Mark and figure out what the heck to get my dad (why are men so difficult to buy for?).
9. It’s time I get busy doing actual work—so that’s all the thinking out loud for today. But be sure to stop by Amanda’s blog for some other random musings. Au revoir, mes amis!

How did you come up with the name Ella for your car? My car is known as Guadalupe. I’m not sure how that got started, but it stuck!
Hope you’re having a great Thursday. 🙂

I drive an Elantra, so Ella seemed natural. I guess I like alliteration; my old car was Sylvia Civic. Guadalupe is much more creative!
Hope your Thursday is wonderful, too. 🙂

You got to see Pentatonix in concert?! Excuse me while I turn green with envy! Those guys are just -amazing- and I’d LOVE to be able to see them live. I’m pretty sure I’ve liked everything they’ve put out so far. And congrats on hosting a successful holiday party! I can’t even imagine how you managed to pull it together on such short notice, but that’s probably because I’m a complete Type-A and freak out big time when it comes to things like that. Teach me your ways!

Yep, Pentatonix were amazing; maybe they’ll make it up to Canada. 🙂
Lucky for us, the party was your basic potluck + secret santa…so no real planning involved (just a little speed-cleaning). Otherwise, I would’ve freaked!
