1. I didn’t really intend to disappear from the blog—but to be honest, I contemplated staying away until the weekend. Sometimes a little time away from the computer (besides the 8 hours I spend at it each day) is just what you need.
2. So…getting old stinks. Cardio barre was great Monday night, but I think I may have done something to my back. As I was putting Baby M in his car seat (on the floor), I pulled a muscle (I think?) and thought I was going to be walking like a hunch-back old lady for the rest of my life. It’s still sore, but I’ve used the heating pad off and on and done some stretching. I hope it’s better by Sunday—because I really want to take advantage of the month of Bikram I purchased. I tell you, you have a baby—and your body goes to $#&%. 😉
3. Speaking of the babe—WHAT. IS. UP. with this kid? He’s over his cold/ear infection/weeks of feeling badly (thank the gods!), but now he won’t sleep! I’m reassured that “it’s a phase” (everything is), but the hour-long fight to get him into his crib—and stay in it—are too much. Mama needs her sleep, ok?
4. This weekend we’re heading back to New Orleans for a really awesome kid’s 2nd birthday party. Last year I was 8 months pregnant (!!), so I’m looking forward to being slightly more comfortable—and, who am I kidding?—able to have a drink (or 2). I want to recreate this picture holding Baby M.
5. Alright, let’s talk blog stuff. I thought I was getting into a good groove, but now I’m back into a funk. No inspiration food-wise, no time to really commit to actual writing. It would absolutely be my dream to ditch the 8-5 and amp up my blog from really atrocious amateur gibberish and iPhone pictures to something that could turn into a career. I wish freelance opportunities grew on trees.
6. I finally ordered an essential oil diffuser and some other oils. After weeks of sickness (even I had a cold for a few days) and our current sleep woes, I’m anxious to see if they really do boost our immunity or calm this child of ours to sleep.
7. I made a fall “bucket list” (more like “to-do list”) and I need to get on some of those things. It’s still really warm here, but we had a couple gloriously cool mornings that have put me into the “I’m so basic, give me all the FALL things” mode. My cheap riding boots I bought 2 years ago essentially fell apart last year, so I’m keeping my eyes peeled for a new (affordable) pair. And I’m thinking some pumpkin-inspired baking needs to happen—perhaps this bread.
8. Alright, I need to get back to my regularly-scheduled Thursday things. Hope y’all have a splendid day—and don’t forget to visit the lovely Miss Spoons for more Thinking Out Loud.

I <3 the pictures of the leaves! It is such a beautiful time of year.
I know what you mean about blogging- it is hard to devote the time & energy you'd like when you have a full time job and family. I'd really like to have a high quality camera, but I can't justify that expense at the moment.
