Hi there! I don’t know about you, but I’m glad today is over. Not that it was a particularly bad day (it was actually a good one), but the weekend was a little stressful after our GI appointment for Baby M. He’s fine—we just need to stuff him silly and make him gain weight.
Anyway, I promise next week I will bring back Meal Plan Monday. The last couple of weeks we’ve just kind of winged it, but this week we’re back on track (for the most part).
But now it’s time for week 3 of the #BOSUStrong Challenge: my 5 favorite stretches and 3 tips for toning your arms!
I can’t believe its already week 3 of the #BosuStrong challenge; time flies when you’re having fun! Last week we focused on balance and I was proud of myself for holding two of my favorite postures at Bikram yesterday morning—toe stand and standing bow! This week it’s all about stretching and toning – so make sure you join in on the fun!
Since we’re talking about stretching here are 5 of my all time favorite stretches:
- I love to stretch my legs by doing plie squats & pigeon pose.
- My favorite total body stretch is triangle (trikinasana).
- I swear when I do camel pose (ustrasana), it feels like a huge weight has been lifted from my chest.
- I stretch my mind by reading as much as possible.
- I try to stretch out of my comfort zone by trying new fitness classes when possible.
And if you’re looking for a great way to tone your arms, here are my favorite 3 tips:
- arm circles!!! (with a light set of hand weights, you will feel the burn
- barre workouts (although, as the name implies, much leg and core work is done at the ballet barre, every class I’ve taken begins with intense arm workouts
- variety: standard bicep curls and triceps dips are great, but don’t forget to focus on your shoulders, too (this “Madonna arms workout” is a great one!)
So I want to know – are you #BOSUStrong? Copy and paste the above, fill it in and make it your own [by changing the bold/italicized answers to yours] and then tag me in it and share with your friends! Let’s all be #BOSUSTRONG.
Hope you have a great Monday night!
