A couple months back I shared some of the “mom lies” I tell myself. In a word, motherhood is interesting. It changes you, and you often find yourself saying and thinking and fearing the darnedest things because babies are sometimes a mess!
Today I thought I’d share 10 things that come out of my “mom mouth” on any given day.
1. Iggy! Stop humping your brother. (Iggy’s the dog, mind you, and yes, he does try to hump the baby. It’s a constant struggle.)
2. I need wine.
3. I have GOT to stop cursing.
4. Bazooka, stop gagging yourself!
5. We really need to start sleep training.
6. No, we do NOT bite mommy! (Alternatively: We do NOT pull Mommy’s hair.)
7. Owwww! (After stepping on a wooden block, stubbing my toe on a walker, or tripping over a speed-crawling baby—and sometimes the language is more “colorful”—refer to #3.)
8. To the husband: Remember when Bazooka was—gestures—“this big?”
9. Just let me snap these 2 snaps! (Or: Who the hell invented baby clothes?!!)
10. To the husband, after the babe finally falls asleep/smiles/does something impossibly silly and/or cute: He’s so perfect.
[linking up for thinking out loud]

AHAHAHA I love this! Sometimes a little colourful language is all you need 🙂

Agreed, although it probably means mine will be the kid whose teacher reprimands him for cursing at school. Oh well. 😉

Oh man!! That is so true about the “he’s so sweet” when he falls asleep. I say the same about my nieces and nephews. That darling baby face just can’t be denied.
foodiecology says
Yep, when he actually DOES sleep, he’s the cutest! 🙂

Wow, you even remember to do snaps. I had to get rid of my snapchat because I was wasting too much time on it. 🙂 Thanks for your honesty! 🙂

Haha, I actually meant fastening the metal snaps on baby onesies! I’ve yet to delve into snapchat, but when the baby likes to roll and kick during diaper changes, those snaps are such a pain! 😉

BAHAHHAHAH snaps on clothing. Why?!? Just why. When I discovered zip up sleepers, I never went back.

Zippered sleepers are a GOD-SEND!!! For some reason, we have more trouble finding them than snap ones, but they make life so much better!
