Hey guys! How was your weekend? Ours was pretty fantastic since Mark and I grabbed a quick dinner downtown on Saturday night before seeing Ben Folds at the Saenger Theater.
We’ve been to a live show of his once before, and this second show did not disappoint! It was a wonderful way to enjoy a little time sans bebe and celebrate our upcoming 8th anniversary! We’re such an old married couple—and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I’m not going to be very active on social media the next couple of days, but hopefully you’ll enjoy (rather than despise) the few blog posts I have scheduled. If not, I’ll be back later in the week to interact with you guys. 🙂
One thing I hate about this time of the year is the pressure from blogs, magazines, and other media to “shape up for summer!” or “get a bikini body!”
I mean, like most people, I want to look good and feel comfortable in a swimsuit (as evidenced by last week’s post), but I don’t believe that fitness should be some seasonal, pressure-filled “event.”
Fitness is year-round for me, and taking my springtime workouts outdoors is about fresh air, ample sunshine, and having fun! It’s less about aesthetics for the summer and more about feeling my best so I can be a healthy, active, and present mother and wife year-round. Toning up and getting a smidgen of color on my (SPF-coated) skin is just an extra perk. 😉
If you’re short on ideas for taking your workout outdoors, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed by the variety on this list!

Isn’t it amazing that you can literally do a workout anywhere with anything? I love the versatility of workouts this day, and one of my favorite parts is not having to leave my house. I’m not really a gym gal, but I LOVE home workouts.

Yes, it is! That’s why I feel so bad when I convince myself “…but I don’t want to go to the gym, so I just won’t workout. ” Duh – I have a floor, some weights, and my backyard. WE just need to get our bodies moving. 😉

I quickly learned that jumping rope is tougher than I used to think it was, haha. Hope you get to do plenty of outdoor workouts this summer 🙂
