Looking for a way to make Mother’s Day extra special? Try one of these delicious brunch recipes! Many of these dishes are lighter and healthier, but one thing’s for certain—they’re all bursting with flavor!
Brunch, brunch, brunch. It’s my favorite meal, the best of two delicious worlds: breakfast and lunch.
While my days of leisurely, boozy brunches are few and far between now that we have a child, I still love to eat typical brunch foods for any meal of the day.
My absolute favorite brunch spot would have to be Stanley in the New Orleans French Quarter. Mark and I almost always split a fried oyster po-boy and have our own bowls of gumbo, but I’ve also enjoyed their bananas foster french toast (which is more like dessert).
But enough about my personal love for brunch, as this post is all about a very special holiday coming up next month: Mother’s Day.
I’ve always been extremely close to my mom, but after having my own child, I see our relationship (and all the sacrifices she’s made for me) with a whole new set of eyes.
If you want to surprise your own mother or wife (or mother-in-law, sister, aunt, daughter, or friend—did I leave anybody out?), a home-prepared brunch would be the ultimate gift.
You can’t go wrong by choosing one (or several) of these delectable recipes. Most are healthy, and none are lacking in flavor!

- Do you usually go savory or sweet for brunch? I alternate—or do both in one epic meal!
- How do you plan to celebrate Mother’s Day this year?

Those cinnamon rolls are calling to me! I also am tempted by the granola. I am definitely a sweet brunch person. My drug of choice is probably waffles or pancakes…actually no, it’s stuffed French toast. YUM!
I’m working on Mother’s Day, gotta feed all those amazing women!

I love basically any kind of granola or French toast, so I hear ya.

I usually go savory for brunch, but I also like getting a sweet and a savory dish and splitting them with someone (usually my mom). My parents are visiting Mother’s Day weekend, so we’ll probably do a brunch or something before they go back home. I actually have an essay to write that weekend, so we’ll lay low, but at least we’ll be together!

Splitting is the way to go! My husband and I usually do that.
I think we’re going to go low-key this year, too. That’s awesome your parents will be in town.

Yes, it IS right around the corner. I didn’t realize till the other day (when planning this post) how soon it is!
