Hello! I hope you guys are enjoying a nice 4th of July weekend with family and friends.
So back when I was writing out my posting “schedule” (I use that term loosely since nothing is ever written in stone) for June, I penciled in a red/white/blue recipe of my own…that never was created.
Bummer, because here we are just 2 days before Independence Day. 4th of July was always one of my favorite celebrations growing up. It meant delicious hamburgers, hours sliding away on the slip-n-slide, and fresh watermelon!
Now that I’m grown, there is no slip-n-slide, but there is always delicious food involved—and icy cold adult beverages. Thank you, ‘Merica.
Even though it’s a little late for my own 4th of July recipe, I wanted to take care of my fellow procrastinators out there with this last minute recipe round-up.
I’ve got you covered with proteins, side dishes, drinks, and desserts—all with a festive Independence Day barbecue feel.
I hope at least one of these recipes speaks to you.

Oh man, I’m so hungry now reading this, lol. That first drink sounds amazing, and that snickerdoodle bar looks SO good! I’m totally going to keep the chocolate drizzled fruit kabobs in mind next time I need a fun, but healthier dessert for something 🙂
P.S. I LOVE your new blog design!! Looks awesome!

Oh, I was seriously drooling going through all these recipes and putting together the post!
Thanks so much! I actually haven’t officially “launched” but somehow my blog went live without my clicking the “go live” button. Oh well. I’m planning to redirect foodiecology to this one – just finishing up some last minute touches.

Ya, I was confused, because both this one and foodiecology were showing up in my bloglovin’ but then I’d click on foodiecology and it would say there are no new posts, even though it was showing 5 unread ones. And I was like, who is A Cup of Catherine?! Haha. Now it all makes sense 🙂
