Back when I was pregnant—and before then, when I was practicing Bikram yoga regularly—I had no problem staying hydrated.
It seemed I was always thirsty, and I kept my reusable bottle(s) by my side at all times.
While I still keep a water bottle at my desk and generally drink water with my meals, I’ve found myself coming up short with my “hydration goals.”
I’ve also found myself a little too dependent on my morning coffee and evening glass of red wine.
In other words, I could do better.
Lucky for me, I was selected to partner with the sparkling water company, Gerolsteiner, for the next several weeks.
Gerolsteiner is the world’s number 1 sparkling mineral water, and it’s been bottled at the source in Germany since 1888.
What makes Gerolsteiner sparkling mineral water so special?
Gerolsteiner water is full of naturally occurring minerals and refreshingly neutral in taste. It contains 84 mg of calcium and 26 mg of magnesium in one 8-fluid ounce serving.
We all know calcium is important for healthy teeth, bones, and muscles. Magnesium is crucial for healthy bones, too, as well as supporting central nervous system function.
The naturally occurring bicarbonate (over 1800 mg per liter) has two benefits: it helps neutralize the acid in your stomach, minimizing the effects of occasional heartburn, and it gives Gerolsteiner a refreshing, neutral taste.
My 23-month-old son is already a fan of Gerolsteiner (seriously, he took the bottle right out of my hands!), and I know his growing bones will benefit from the calcium.
Because I enjoy the taste and nutritional benefits of Gerolsteiner sparkling water, I will be taking part in the Gerolsteiner Sparkling Detox the week of September 12-16.
You can take part in the Sparkling Detox, too!
Now, this isn’t an ordinary detox—or else I would not be participating.
Most detoxes on the market are about deprivation and extremes—but the Gerolsteiner Sparkling Detox is the opposite. It’s all about supplementing an already-healthy diet and routine with refreshing and delicious mineral water.
Remember the coffee and red wine I’ve been consuming a little too freely? Well, for 5 days, I will replace those drinks (and others) with Gerolsteiner sparkling mineral water. In fact, I will only drink Gerolsteiner mineral water during the day, after my workouts, and with my normal, healthy meals. Thankfully, smoothies are considered a food, so I won’t have to give those up in the mornings! 🙂
I’m excited to see how this goes. I can always tell when I’m not hydrating properly, and I think all the caffeine I’m drinking is increasing my anxiety.

What a great product! I’ve actually been having a hell of a time staying hydrated lately and it really affected me the other day. Plain water seems to go right through me. This product looks fabulous. Thanks for the review Catherine

Oh no, I’m sure with all your running you have to drink a ton of water!
Let me know if you try this. I always shied away from sparkling water because I thought it was bitter, but this really does have a neutral, pleasant taste.

Now this seems doable! I do not really love the cleanses that are just ‘one nutrient’ or one drink, and I love how you add this into your already healthy diet to replace other drinks. I can’t wait to hear how it goes. I love sparkling water, and I didn’t know that it could have so many nutrients.

I am definitely not a fan of traditional “cleanses” but I think we all can get behind something that lets us eat normally and ADD to our diet/lifestyle rather than subtract.
