Hi, friends!
We’re already more than half way through June (what?!) and I haven’t done one of these little currently updates since early May.
Hope you’re all having a good week! I’m going stir-crazy thanks to Tropical Storm Cindy, but it’s been a pretty good week so far.
Currently // June 2017
Reading // The Handmaid’s Tale. I think after this one, I will read something light-hearted and fun (if you need any book recommendations, check out my summer reading list).
Watching // We finished Orange Is The New Black last week, so I need a new show! I’ve heard good things about The Keepers, so maybe that will be next.
Listening to // Dear Evan Hansen – on repeat. One day I will live closer to NYC and see ALLTHEBROADWAYSHOWS.
Needing // To be kinder to my skin. I’ve noticed more breakouts lately, and I have a horrible habit of touching my face and messing with it—and I hardly ever wash my face before bed. I need to change that! #boringselfcare, y’all
Loving // My shorter hair…except I don’t feel like fixing it with all the darn humidity.
Not loving // That Bath & Body Works has discontinued my favorite scent, Cashmere Glow. Why does everything I love have to be discontinued or closed down?! The good news is my awesome husband ordered me FIVE bottles from their website. <3
Eating // Triscuits. I’m sort of addicted…mostly to the roasted garlic and the honey + fig flavors.
Drinking // Smoothies! I bought some spirulina + probiotics blend and some maca powder recently, and so far, I’ve just been tossing them in different smoothies (well, and this freezer chocolate). This strawberry + maca + chocolate blend was tasty.
Craving // Some good seafood—perhaps a fried shrimp po-boy since that’s what Mark’s been craving all week, too. We were supposed to go out to lunch for one last Saturday, but that didn’t pan out. Hopefully this weekend will be better!
Avoiding // Getting serious about potty training Bazooka. I know it needs to be done, but I’m lazy. And I don’t like to rush things. However, I know it will be a huge relief when he’s officially out of diapers, so hopefully we will have him well-trained by his 3rd birthday in October.
Happy about // Summer. We don’t have big vacation plans or anything (well, we do have a beach trip planned with our friends for Labor Day weekend, but that’s a while off), but I’m feeling summer vibes. Watermelon. Iced tea. Barbecuing outside. Swimming in the back yard pool with Bazooka. Flip flops (ok, those are year-round, but whatever). Blueberries. My new pineapple tank from Old Navy. Gimme all the summer things!
Looking forward to // The weekend. Hopefully some of this dreadful rain will be out of the way and we can get out of the house! I’m feeling like quite the hermit lately.

Hmmm…. I need to be reading more lately. My sister has been going through books so quickly. Also isn’t summer such an amazing time? For a long time I hated summer heat, but I think I’m starting to enjoy it this year. We’ve also been watching a few episodes of the Flash lately, but we also watched part of the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe last night. 🙂
Your smoothie looks so god! Aren’t Triscuits the best? They’re such thick substantial crackers.

Summer heat is brutal – especially in the south with all the humidity. But…it’s also a great time for beach trips and dips in the pool.
I haven’t watched The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe, but I lived the book growing up!

Love triscuts too. Those and saltines have always been my favorite!
