I received a set of gorgeous, silky, and sustainable eucalyptus sheets from Sheets & Giggles in exchange for my honest review. I was not compensated in any other way, and as always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Even though my son is 5, I still haven’t fallen back into a “normal,” pre-motherhood sleep pattern.
I’m constantly waking up, hearing “phantom” cries, ruminating the day before, or anticipating the days to come (those things happened before having kids, but whatever).
I’ve tried sipping chamomile or Sleepy Time tea at night, spritzing lavender onto my pillowcase, cozying up under my weighted blanket, and reading before I get into the bed in an effort to “detox” my brain from social media and TV, but I still struggle to get solid, restful sleep. So does the husband.
With all that said, obviously I was excited to try out a set of eucalyptus sheets made by the Denver, Colorado company, Sheets & Giggles.
Eucalyptus Sheets from Sheets & Giggles
If you’re wondering just how sheets can be made from eucalyptus, allow me to explain. Sheets & Giggles’ hypoallergenic, self-cooling, and breathable sheets are made using a lyocell process from the wood of eucalyptus trees grown on sustainably managed farms. Ancient eucalyptus forests are not touched during this process, and, in an effort to give back to the environment, a new tree is planted somewhere in the United States for every order received.
If the harvesting process isn’t enough to convince you try these sheets out for yourself, then how about this? Sheets & Giggles’ silky sheets are made using up to 96% less water than most cotton sheet manufacturing, which saves up to 5 years’ worth of the average person’s drinking water! Who’d lose sleep over that?
Are they worth the hype?
My queen size set of sheets (listed on Amazon and on the web for $137.90) came in a sturdy purple box; included was an adorable purple sleep mask and a satiny purple bag for storing the sheets.
I ordered the light blue, which, while brighter than I’d anticipated, is a gorgeous and rich color. After following the included laundering instructions, I washed my sheets in cold water on the gentle cycle and tumble dried on the lowest setting.
Oh my goodness—these sheets are so silky smooth!
With their high thread count, these sheets are some of the softest and most luxurious I’ve ever slept on. During winter, we normally sleep on flannel, so it was a bit of an adjustment getting used to the natural coolness of the eucalyptus sheets, but I found them incredibly cozy. I do get awfully cold in our house, so we’ll probably get more use out of these on sweltering Alabama summer nights than we will in winter time.
As you can see in the pictures, even our piebald dachshund, Iggy, found the sheets to be snuggly and perfect for napping.
Sheets & Giggles eucalyptus sheets are definitely a splurge, but if you’re attempting to buy more sustainably-made products, and find it worthwhile to treat yourself to top-quality linens, and enjoy a good pun (like I do), then these sheets are well worth the upgrade from your bargain bedding!
As I continue to focus on creating a relaxing nighttime routine, I think these beautiful sheets will help me get the quality sleep I need to give 100% to my family and my own self-care.
